This steak is a hidden jewel that is not very well known by the masses. Sometimes called the “Butcher’s steak” because butchers would often keep it for themselves rather than offer it for sale. One of the most tender cuts, most people would pass it up, but not you! Impress your guests or family with an incredible meal with this as the centerpiece.

The unique thing about the hanger steak is that it has a vein running through it so it does require some special preparation. Below is what we recommend for best results:

  • Bring to room temp, Trim off any excess fat 
  • Season both sides with salt and pepper or your favorite steak seasoning
  • Keep flipping every 30 sec until steak reaches 130 degrees F
  • While the steak is cooking, prepare a chimichurri sauce
  • Separate two halves by cutting along either side of the vein. Slice both sides by cutting against the grain. Drizzle with chimichurri sauce and enjoy!
