Known for its rich flavor and tenderness, hanger steak is a cut from the cow’s diaphragm. Often called the “butcher’s steak,” it’s best grilled or pan-seared and served medium-rare.
This steak is a hidden jewel that is not very well known by the masses. Sometimes called the “Butcher’s steak”, because butchers would often keep it for themselves rather than offer it for sale. Why? It's one of the most tender cuts. Don't pass it up! Instead, impress your guests or family with an incredible meal with this as the centerpiece.
Need an idea for a delicious marinade? Here's our family's Marinated Hanger Steak recipe.
PRO TIP: The unique thing about the hanger steak is that it has a vein running through it. Before serving, we recommend cutting along either side of the vein, and serving the steak in two pieces. It's a 2 person steak!
When you raise beef regeneratively, it's not only better for the planet, but it also packs more nutrition. Regeneratively raised beef can have up to 75% more nutrient density compared to conventional beef.
Did you know? For every 1lb of beef raised regeneratively, about 3.5lb of carbon is sequestered. But, for every 1lb of conventional feedlot beef, about 26lb of carbon is emitted. Woah!
So, for each 1.35lb Nourished by Nature regenerative beef hanger steak you buy, you're sequestering 4.7lb of carbon right back into our soil. Way to be a changemaker!
