Here is a favorite prime rib recipe of ours and is great in the oven and even better on the grill. It has become a staple meal for our holiday celebrations.
- Prep Time:
- Servings: 6-8
Ingredients
- (1 roast) Beef Prime Rib Roast
- (4 tbsp.) Olive Oil
- (1 tsp.) Minced Garlic
- (1 tbsp.) Black Pepper
- (1 tbsp.) Salt
- (1 tbsp.) Thyme
- (1 tbsp.) Rosemary
- (1/2 tsp.) Cayenne Pepper
- (1/2 tsp.) Ground Allspice
- (1/2 tsp.) Cumin
- (1/2 tsp.) Paprika
Directions
For the Rub:In a mixing bowl combine the following:4 tbsp. olive oil1 tsp. minced garlic1 tbsp. black pepper1 tbsp. salt1 tbsp. thyme (fresh)1 tbsp. rosemary (fresh)1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper1/2 tsp. ground allspice1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. paprika
Cover the prime rib with the rub and put it in a sealed bag to marinate for 2 hours.
On the Grill:
Be sure to place the roast fat side up on the grill at 300 degrees. Grill at that temperature until the roast is ~120 degrees. Then crank the heat up to 400 degrees for the final 10 minutes to get a good sear.
Pull it out when the internal temperature reaches 140 degrees, then let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
Enjoy!
