Pork Fat

5 lb.

Sale

Great for rendering into lard and using for cooking and baking. For hunters, it's also a great addition to sausage recipes.

Tasty Family Inspiration

To make lard, place pork fat in a heavy pot or slow cooker with a splash of water (to prevent burning), and cook over low heat for several hours, stirring occasionally. As the fat melts, it will render into clear liquid. Once it's all liquid, strain out any crispy bits (AKA the cracklings) with a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Pour the liquid lard into jars or containers and let it cool. That's it!

Get More Nutrition

When you raised hogs regeneratively, it's not only better for the planet, but it's also packs more nutrition. Regeneratively raised pork can have up to 300% more vitamins and minerals. It also has a much better fat profile, with significantly higher omega 3s compared to conventional pork.

Save the Planet

Did you know that regeneratively raised pigs help manage our soil? That's right. With all they're rooting and mud puddling, they are natural tillers and compost turners. And that means less energy used to make and run machinery. Plus, they're pretty entertaining to watch, too :)

That means that, when you buy our pork fat, you're helping naturally maintain and rebuild soil! And that means you're helping the planet and the future of food. Way to be a changemaker!
